In the past, when elegant people enjoyed drinking sake while viewing the moon, they would enjoy gazing at the moon reflected in the sake cup rather than looking up at the moon in the night sky.

We created a new sake cup based on the concept of an inverted moon reflected in a sake cup.

Its name is "Upside-down."

Various images of the months are incorporated into six designs (Yoi/Jugo/Kasa/Ariake/Misoka/Sen) and expressed using lacquer and maki-e.

Of the six sake cups, this product is based on the motif of a "sengetsu," a thin, crescent-like shape.

The night sky is represented in black and vermilion lacquer, and the long, shining moon is represented by multiple thin lines of gold lacquer.

The gold ring shines against the lustrous black and vermilion lacquer, giving this sake cup an image of both elegance and sophistication.

This product is part of Isuke's newly launched "isuke" brand.

The "isuke" brand is based on the idea that lacquerware should be used in everyday life, and aims to simply express and let people experience the true essence of lacquerware, such as the "warmth of wood" and the "moisture of lacquer."

By combining the superior craftsmanship of lacquerware with the power of modern design, we produce products that express its charm in a simple way and give you a sense of "a little bit of happiness (peace, healing, moisture, kindness)" in your daily life.

This product was designed by Miyake Kazushige, a designer who also designs for "MUJI."
